Boom

Every year, composer Phil Kline records an “outdoor ambient music piece” for boom boxes and traverses the country, distributing cassette tapes and ghetto blasters to ordinary citizens to be played at loud volume. On Saturday, his Unsilent Night hit the East Village, and nymag.com’s intrepid Jonah Green was on hand to feel the noise.
